Lecture: The Science & Theory Behind Color & How We Can Use that In Our Knitting

We live our lives surrounded by and immersed in color! Whether you embrace it or shy away from it, color can be a key to unlock hidden meaning or feeling in your knits. Join colorwork designer Tanis Gray as we discuss the science behind how and why we see color, the history behind colors that changed the world, color psychology, color in culture, comprehensive color theory, building a better color wheel, making good (and bad) color choices, and how we can take all this knowledge and use it in our knitting in a one-hour lecture.

Stranded Colorwork & Latvian Braid Workshop:

Freaked over Fair Isle? Curious about stranded colorwork techniques? Intimidated by multiple strands of yarn in multiple colors? Not sure how gauge works or how to trap those floats? This is the workshop for you! We’ll cover basic Fair Isle knitting techniques for English, Continental, and Combination knitters, tackle common issues, proper technique, how to trap floats, Latvian braids, Fair Isle history and set good Fair Isle knitting habits. We’ll put everything we learned into practice while knitting up either the Luminosu Hat or the Luminosu Cowl (knitter’s choice!). No previous colorwork experience necessary.
